Parent/Family Expectations

Practices

Practices during the year are generally closed. Practices will be closed to keep the players focused on their training. However if parents wish to observe practice they must keep these practice behaviors in mind:

Do not talk to the players during any drill and/or break (this includes cheering).

No coaching from the sidelines, please.

Only registered USAV members are allowed to use balls/equipment during practice. Do not allow siblings to run around without parental supervision during this time.

Come with an open mind. You should be there to enjoy watching and supporting your daughter, not to evaluate other players. The best time to watch a practice is the last hour – this is when we will be scrimmaging.

Competition/Tournaments

Officials are off limits to all spectators. No matter how bad the call may be. This includes line judges and score keepers. Most of the time clubs, like us, will use players to be line judges and referees. How would you feel if someone yelled at your daughter for missing a call?

If you wish to have a meeting with the coach to discuss your daughter’s performance, please call the head coach the following day to schedule an appropriate time. Before and after a tournament will not be acceptable.

When picking up players after games, please be on time. At no time will the coaching staff leave a player at the school waiting for a ride.
