Player Expectations
General – Don’t Whine, Don’t Complain, Don’t Make Excuses
All cell phones shall be turned off or set to silent.
At no time are players allowed to share water bottles. They must bring their own bottles to all practices and competition. Bottles should have secured lids to keep them from spilling.
No profanity will be allowed.
Practices
Players are expected to be on time. This means a minimum of 15 minutes early. All players are expected to help set up the gym and anything else that is required for the practice.
All teams will be expected to follow the club’s dress code. Any player in dress code violation may not be allowed to practice. Each player will be given (2) practice shirts and spandex shorts for practice.
Proper knee pads and athletic shoes will be required. Ankle braces are optional, but highly recommended for those who have had past ankle injuries.
Always come to the gym ready to learn and train.
Players are expected to work hard.
Run everywhere and support your teammates.
Tournaments/Invitational
Our teams will compete in the Arizona Region Tournaments.
Tournaments will either start in the morning or in the afternoon. Each team will play at least 3 matches in a modified bracket. Based on where they finish they will be reseeded for the next tournament. At the end of the year the teams will play in the Region Championships, which will be an all day tournament.
Since the majority of teams are from the Phoenix area, be prepared to drive or car pool to Phoenix with other players on these days.
All players will be required to attend a scoring/referee clinic to learn how to officiate and score keep. All players must be willing to help work the matches we are assigned to work.
Knowing where we play on the weekend is hard to predict. Since the region is always fighting to find gyms, we will not know the location or time of our play site till the Wednesday before the weekend.
Players are encouraged to bring snacks to eat in between matches. There is NO break for lunch.
